Celebrating 40 Years of Kollel
On Purim 1979 Kollel Menachem Lubavitch was established as per the Directive of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
The Rebbe urged the pioneers of the first group to the Kollel to "Overturn Australia through Limud Hatorah"
Over the past 40 years the Kollel Rabbis have studied over 428,280 hours of Torah here in Melbourne, with our local Jewish community. It would take one person over 48 years of 24 hour study to reach this Total.
40 years later we can see the tangible benefits of the Kollel including the bolstering of the community with over 145 Kollel couples who have subsequently settled here.

About the Kollel
Kollel Menachem is a vibrant centre of Jewish learning and growth. We provide high-quality Torah learning opportunities to the full spectrum of the Melbourne Jewish Community.
At the core, Kollel is an institute of advanced Jewish learning where young Rabbis advance their study of Jewish law after marriage. By bringing these young scholars to our community we not only create an atmosphere of Torah in the Beis Medrash, we project it outwards by offering all types of learning opportunities including high quality public lectures and one on one study sessions.
Our graduates take up posts as the next generation of teachers, Shluchim, community Rabbis and leaders. Many elect to take opportunities locally bolstering our growing community.
